Terms of use
Last updated 4 November 2026
These terms apply when you use Shwinx. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you use Shwinx for a business, you confirm you can accept these terms for that business. Questions: hello@shwinx.com.
What Shwinx is
Shwinx helps you plan annual price increases, send notices to your clients and keep a record. It is not a billing system, and it does not give legal, tax or accounting advice. You decide who to notify, what to charge and what your contracts allow. Please check that each increase and notice complies with your client contracts and the law where you operate.
Private beta
Shwinx is in beta. Features may change, and there may be bugs. Access can be given by a tester code for a set period. When that period ends and no new code or payment is added, the account is frozen: you can still view and download your data, but you cannot make changes or send notices. We will give notice of pricing before charging anything, and nothing is charged without your agreement.
Your account
- Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite.
- Give accurate information and keep your reply-to email address real, since clients' replies go there.
- Tester codes are for one organisation and cannot be shared or resold.
Your data and your clients
You own your data. You give us permission to store and process it to provide Shwinx, as described in the privacy policy. You confirm that you have the right to upload your clients' information and to email them, and that your notices are lawful and not misleading. When you press send, the email goes from Shwinx's sending address in your name, with replies directed to you, and cannot be recalled.
Acceptable use
- Do not use Shwinx to send spam, unrelated marketing, or anything unlawful, deceptive or abusive.
- Do not attempt to break, overload or reverse engineer the service, or access another organisation's data.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, putting people at risk or harming the service.
Availability and liability
We work to keep Shwinx running and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" during the beta, without a guarantee that it will always be available or error free. You are responsible for checking calculations, dates and notices before you send them. To the extent the law allows, Shwinx is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost revenue or client disputes, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it, or R1,000 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending your use
You can stop using Shwinx at any time and ask us to delete your account. We can end the service or your access with reasonable notice, and we will give you the chance to download your data.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will tell account holders by email before material changes take effect. Continuing to use Shwinx afterwards means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
